Privacy Policy
WiZ Co. Ltd. recognizes that the protection of personal information is an important social responsibility. To ensure compliance with Japan’s Personal Information Protection Law, WiZ has drawn up the following Privacy Policy.
Collection, use and management of personal information
- WiZ will collect personal information through appropriate methods, and the individuals in question will be notified of the purpose of collection and use of the said personal information.
- WiZ will specify the intended uses of personal information, and take appropriate measures to ensure that the employment of the personal information is within the scope of purposes to which the customer has consented.
- WiZ will collect data in an appropriate manner, and work to keep the collected information up-to-date.
- WiZ will take all safety measures deemed necessary to prevent leakage, destruction, and loss of personal data. It will take measures to prevent unauthorized access via the Internet, will install and update anti-virus software, and will address all other issues pertaining to the management of hardware and software.
- WiZ will ensure that when the personal information is disclosed to a third party, that party is bound by a non-disclosure agreement with WiZ, and that appropriate monitoring is implemented to ensure that the agreement is upheld.
Non-disclosure of personal information to third parties
Personal information obtained from a customer will not be disclosed to any third party except under one or more of the following conditions:
- Cases where the disclosure is required by law;
- In cases where disclosure is necessary to prevent personal harm, or damage to financial assets, and where there are difficulties in obtaining the consent of the person concerned;
- In cases where disclosure is required to improve public health or prevent minors from being exposed to violence, cruelty or to pornography, and where there are difficulties in obtaining the consent of the person concerned;
- In cases where cooperation with national institutions, local government bodies, or persons commissioned by them in the performance of their duties as laid down by law is necessary, and there is a risk that obtaining the consent of the person concerned might interfere with the performance of these duties.
Compliance with laws and regulations
- WiZ fulfills the obligations stipulated in the personal information protection laws of Japan and related regulations.
- WiZ has drafted in-house guidelines governing the protection and management of personal information, and ensures that the necessary and appropriate surveillance of these operations takes place to ensure that the policy guidelines are upheld by all its employees.
- WiZ will regularly review its Privacy Policy and in-house guidelines on personal information protection, and make revisions to reflect amendments to Japan’s Personal Information Protection Law, changes in social norms, and the findings of in-house investigations.
Inquiries
- WiZ will respond swiftly and appropriately to requests for the disclosure, revision, abolition or erasure of information in line with the Personal Information Protection Law.
- Please contact WiZ directly to report any case in which the in-house Privacy Policy has not been upheld, or to make inquiries concerning the management of personal information.
